The Fire
Dear Friends,
On Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:50 pm, a fire broke out in our warehouse and quickly spread to our showroom. While we are grateful that no one was hurt during the 6 alarm fire, all of our inventory and our buildings were destroyed.
We also lost our 3 beloved cats, Lilly, Jack and Caesar.
We would like to thank all of the people who have stepped forward to help us during this tragedy, including the 100+ firemen from 22 different towns who fought the blaze, the South Hampton police department, everyone at CP Lumber Supply, co., Chris at Architectural Salvage, Jim and Maureen Swenson, customers who drove from Lynn at 11 pm the night of the fire just to offer us their support (we love you both!), our employees who have been to work every single day since the fire, Jayson Raymond from Raymond Dismantling, Frank Crocker at the Granite Group, and our families and close friends who have stood by us during this past week of hell.
Although we are not open for day to day business, we are still welcoming inquiries for barnboard, heart pine and other antique building materials. Believe it or not, new inventory has already started to arrive.
We will rebuild. Soon. And It Will Be Amazing!
Thank you to everyone!
Donna & John

I was devastated to hear about the fire last week. I'm so glad to hear that you're already beginning to rebuild the business and that everyone is ok. My condolences on the loss of your lovely cats.
I visited Nor'East in March of this year and bought a few things. While I was there, I took some snapshots, including some of a vocal kitty. In case you'd like to see them, I've uploaded them to Flickr here:

Best wishes to you and your employees and families. I look forward to visiting the new Nor'East soon!

I've been planning to come up for several weeks to discuss incorporating some of your architectural treasures into my new business design. To happen upon news of the fire was shocking.
First, myy sympathy in the loss of your beloved cats (I recall a nice visit with one of the cats in the doorknob section and I recall your carefully posted signs on the doors to insure their safety). I'm sure the loss of the architectural treasures is a terrible blow but I sense you have the right attitude.
Best of Luck as You Rebuild.

I am so sorry to hear of the devastating fire on June 3, the destruction of all your fabulous inventory and, perhaps the saddest, the loss of your feline companions. I often check your site for "new" items. I wish you the best as you rebuild your wonderful business.

I had been to your place before, and loved your selection of inventory and how well organized it all was. I was in North Hampton the day before the fire and almost stopped by. When I read about the fire in the paper the next day, I cried. It was very sad. My heart goes out to you. I lost everything of importance to me in a house fire and know how devastating it is. I'm very, very sad about your kitties. That's just terrible.
Best wishes in rebuilding.

I have always enjoyed visiting your place and chatting with you. There is no doubt your rebuild will be amazing. It is very inspiring to hear you are going forward.
It is evident that you have wonderful support from family and friends.
My thoughts are with you.
